Dora Jung, who graduated from the Arts and Crafts school in Helsinki in 1932, was best known for her textile designs. Among others, she designed the curtains of Helsinki's National Finnish Theatre. She had opened her own studio in 1951 and was awarded the Grand Prix at Milan's Triennial Textile Exhibition in 1951, 1954 and 1957. Much scarcer were her designs for hand knotted rugs.
